Solar fence – a fence that makes electricity

Bifacial solar panels mounted between steel posts: a strong, good-looking fence that produces power from both sides – morning and evening, even in snow.

Power from both sides

Vertical bifacial panels catch morning and evening sun and the reflection from snow.

Any length

Posts are spaced to your panel size – the fence runs as far as you need.

Simple foundations

Posts are driven about 1 m into the ground or bolted on pads.

Snow stays off

Vertical panels do not collect snow, so winter production continues.

Frequently asked questions

Does a solar fence need a permit?

Rules differ by municipality. Fences up to about 1.5 m high are often allowed without a permit, but check with your local government.

Which direction should the fence face?

An east–west facing fence (running north–south) gives the most even daily production with bifacial panels.

Can it have a gate?

Yes – leave a bay free for a gate and we adapt the posts.
